What's your view on the future of Business in St. Austell?

Why does St. Austell seem to be about to miss out on strategic funding for business growth and infrastructure?

Two reasons: Historically, a lack of clear vision, but perhaps more significantly a lack of evidence to show the extent of St. Austell's need for economic investment.

Over the past 4 months, the Chamber committee has been consulting with it members, representing many different businesses, talking to councillors and business leaders in our area.

We've been asking what questions need to be asked; what impact survey evidence can have in lobbying for St. Austell's share; and what difference a cohesive voice can have speaking up for all businesses in general. At the same time, being aware that in addressing the needs for the right kind of support for individual business it can go towards making a big impact.

PLEASE HELP by spending a few minutes of you time to complete this independant Survey, produced voluntarily by businesses for business.

The results of the survey will aim to:

Inform strategic decisions regarding the future economic development for St. Austell town and Bay area.
Produce and provide up-to-date information that can be made available to key decision makers, and public and private stakeholders.
To show why, and where, in St. Austell trade and business may be struggling to compete in the current market.
To indicate areas of strength and weaknesses in the current business and retail mix in the area.
Identify how businesses can be helped to do better.
Help predict where future threats are most likely to occur and how to mitigate them.
Identify opportunities and make informed recommendations for future action.
