Free Autumn Fair set to delight local families

  • Free entry Autumn Fair to be held on Saturday 23rd September
  • It will include a Dog Show, Produce Show an plenty of activities and stalls

The organisers of a free Autumn Fair in St Austell are making the final preparations for what is sure to be a fantastic family day out.

The fair will be a hive of activity, which will include a dog and a produce show, as well as a sticker treasure hunt with a £100 voucher prize to the lucky winner. 

Held on Saturday 23rd September at 11am-3pm at Cornwall College St Austell, visitors will get to wonder around the many stalls, take part in fun games and try out some of the courses on offer.

Dog owners are invited to bring their beloved pooches and enter the dog show to win medals in a range of categories including the Cutest Puppy (up to 12 months), Waggiest Tail, Golden Oldie (six plus years old), Dog Judge Would Most Like to Take Home, Prettiest Bitch, Most Handsome Dog, Best Decorated Lead/Leash and Best Rescue.

For those who love to bake or grow their own produce, the produce section will be hosting entrants magnificent marrows, colossal carrots and carefully crafted cakes.

There are four separate categories to enter produce into; Cakes & Preserves, Vegetables, Fruit and a Children’s Competition.  More detailed information about the produce show can be found at https://www.cornwall.ac.uk/events/detail/autumn-fair/

Head of Campus, Chris Taylor said staff and students at the college are “very much looking forward to welcoming the community for the Autumn Fair”.

“It has been a few years since we’ve put on an event like this, so we’re really excited and sure that those who attend will have a great day,” he continued.

“I can’t wait to see the dog show and you may find me trying to sample some of the cake competition entrants as I know we have a number of fantastic bakers in the area.”
